Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. She was born and raised in California, USA, she started her modelling career in Italy. Her acting debut was in 1996, when she appeared in "Her Costly Affair," the first TV film. After that, she was a star in a role of minor importance in the movie 'Starship Troopers', she struggled very hard. Her struggle was with transitioning between acting and modeling because models aren't typically considered acting professionals, and are typically given small and insignificant part. Yet somehow, Amy was determined to keep going and transitioned to bigger roles later, beginning with the series 'The 70's" and the film "Varsity Blues'". Her next move was to play leading roles with the 2005's romantic comedy film 'Just friends in which she was also joined by Ryan Reynolds. Amy got her first recognition by the industry for her performance during the past 10 years. She went on doing some significant films, like the 'Crank' series opposite Jason Statham and the series "Shameless," in which she was a popular recurring character.
